About Dr. Bertram Canagasingham

Dr. Bertram Canagasingham is a senior Urological Surgeon with nearly 20 years experience caring for the people of Greater Western Sydney, including the Penrith, Blue Mountains, Richmond and Windsor areas.

He worked as a junior doctor at Nepean Hospital and returned to work as a Specialist in Urology after completing his advanced training. During his advanced training he was under the supervision of the Urological Society of Australia & New Zealand and completed the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in the discipline of Urology.

During this time he was attached to several large teaching hospitals in Sydney and later undertook post graduate training at the University of Wales Teaching Hospital in Cardiff, UK.

Dr. Canagasingham is a general Urological Surgeon and manages patients with urological cancers including cancer of the Kidney, Prostate, Bladder and Testis. He uses laparoscopic and Robot assisted surgical techniques in the treatment of Kidney and Prostate cancers.

He also has an interest in benign prostatic enlargement and laser prostate surgery, laser treatment of kidney and urinary tract stones, vasectomy and the management of male and female urinary incontinence. He runs a Urodynamics clinic at Nepean Hospital and performs Botox injections for patients with Overactive Bladder problems.

He consults in his rooms in Penrith and Richmond and operates at Nepean Hospital, Nepean Private Hospital and Hawkesbury Hospital.
